Every year another new sauna dealer springs up and brings in a cheap low end sauna thinking that if they can
be the cheapest they will sell the most. And every year we get many unhappy customers calling us for parts and
service because they can't find the company they bought the sauna from. The parts from one sauna will not fit
another so they are stuck. I feel real bad for them and wish we could help them, so I have to write this to warn
you about buying a low end sauna especially from a dealer that is new to the business. If you get one from a
major retailer, you MIGHT be able to return it, but parts are another story. When I enquired about parts at one
major home improvement store, I was told to call a company in Texas and when I did, they said it would be 4 to 6
weeks delivery and I would have to tell them which part I needed. (This means I would first have to pay an
electrician to find that out.)
Low end saunas are just that....cheap saunas, and you get what you pay for. Most of them DO NOT kiln dry their
wood even though they say they do, and if they do, it's only for 7 to 10 days just to be able to say so. That is not
enough to dry it properly. They only offer a One Year Warranty, and after that if the wood cracks and shrinks
leaving gaps, it's your problem. The electrical components are also very low quality and when the warranty is
over you better hope the dealer you bought the sauna from is still in business so you can buy parts (if he has
any.) Most also use the cheaper and less effective white heaters which can develop hot spots and do not
produce very good infrared. Let's face it...how else could you make a cheap sauna except by using cheap
components. The cost of labour is exactly the same.
I don't like to knock a competitors product, but we have had so many complaints about low end saunas, and
many years ago when we first started, we also carried low end saunas because that's all there was at the time,
so I know first hand what a horrendous nightmare this can be. Over the years I have seen so many sauna
dealers come and go and leave behind a lot of unhappy customers looking for parts and service. They play the
"pump and dump" game and then they are gone. They usually know very little about infrared saunas and
sometimes will say just about anything to make a sale. This is so unfair.
It doesn't pay to buy a cheap sauna because for a few hundred dollars more you can buy a much better sauna
that comes with a better warranty and better heaters. A sauna is a major purchase, not something you want to
buy every couple years so why not buy something that will last and from a company where you can easily get
parts and service when needed.
